The Musical Irving Berlin’s White Christmas: Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages. Dirty Work at the Crossroads

Dirty Work at the Crossroads is a comedic melodrama that tells in laughable style the tear jerking story of Nellie Lovelace, a country girl. Munro Murgatroyd is the classic villain in the play who is intent on selling some land underhandedly to the railroad. He has a wife Ida Rhinegold, belle of the New Haven Music Halls, but that does not prevent him from trying to pursue Nellie. Nor does it prevent him from driving Adam Oakhart, the blacksmith’s son to vices, or from blackmailing rich Mrs. Asterbilt, or from bewitching her daughter, Leonie. Enjoy some laughter and find out what happens at the crossroads! The play is directed by Marty Kelly, written by Bill Johnson, and produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

Calendar Girls

The play Calendar Girls written by Tim Firth: When Annie’s husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Women’s Institute members to pose nude with them for an “alternative” calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women’s charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie’s friendship is put to the test under the strain of their newfound fame. Based on the true story of eleven older women who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest-selling play in British theatre history. Fauquier Community Theatre’s production of Calendar Girls is directed by Scott Olson and produced by Maggie Swan. Calendar Girls is by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

A heartwarming, gripping, sometimes whimsical but always moving story of a small Scots/Irish Gaelic family with a powerful secret fleeing political persecution in 1814 America, “Tales of the Artisan” transports the viewers to a secret world of magic, wonder and intrigue. Part coming-of-age story, part action thriller and part homage to the incredible connection of family, the musical features an evolution of early American music, beginning with its roots in Scotch/Irish culture and exploring aspects of early folk. The score is full of lush blends, big dance numbers, magic effects and features a small on-stage orchestra comprised of the primary characters.
