Les Misérables is the world’s longest running musical — a true modern classic based on Victor Hugo’s novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. The multi-award-winning Les Misérables is as groundbreaking today as it was when it first premiered in London in 1985. Featuring updated orchestrations based on the Tony-nominated 2014 Broadway revival.

 

In nineteenth-century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean’s adopted daughter.


Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables School Edition packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. The running time is just over two hours while beautifully maintaining the integrity of this musical masterpiece. The production is directed by Jeff Walker along with music director Doray Walker. Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! Seussical JR. is directed by Marie Lyons and is part of Fauquier Community Theatre’s Summer Youth Program. The production is by special arrangement with Music Theater International. Written by Irving Berlin and Herbert and Dorothy Fields, the 1946 musical celebrates her stormy, competitive relationship with Frank Butler, a dashing vaudeville marksman, as they tour the country as the stars of “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.” The show boasts classic songs by Irving Berlin, a brand new revised book by Peter Stone and direction and choreography by Graciela Daniele (Ragtime). The score features some of Irving Berlin’s most beloved songs, including “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “You Can’t Get A Man With A Gun,” “Doin’ What Comes Naturally” and “Anything You Can Do.” The musical is directed by Jeff Walker and with special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
